Romantic Style Bathrooms

In my book Romantic Style which has just been re-released in paperback I share my style and decorating ideas for how to bring a sense of romance into your homes and gardens. The beginning of the book covers my romantic inspirations with chapters on Vintage, Simple, Modern and Elegant Romantic styles. I have included chapters on Romantic Styling with ideas for Colour, flowers, display and lighting. It then moves on to romantic rooms which covers all spaces from cooking to bathing. Romantic Style bath rooms are beautiful spaces to relax and even the smallest of bathrooms can still be made into romantic spaces. Add a ton of candles, some posies of flowers, invest in a pretty mirror and add some hooks where you can hang towels and pretty robes (I’m a fan of Caro London robes and shower hats). I like to use lace panels as window treatments and pretty details like french Savon Soaps. A bath is a luxury and great for a long soak and a decent shower is a must for any bathroom. I’m quite in love with gold / brass bathroom fittings at the moment, Homebase sells this Gold Westminster bath/shower mixer tap which I think would look amazing in an all white bathroom and the vintage style and luxe gold will certainly add a romantic feel. For more inspiration for your romantic bathroom please check out my book Romantic Style and also follow my Selina Lake – Bathrooms Ideas board on Pinterest. How do you create a sense of Romantic Style in your bathroom?

I love those ideas!! I was just telling a friend of mine who has an old claw-foot tub to talk to a local Sacramento bathtub refinishing company instead of doing it herself. The job will last longer. The place I found also does counters,so she's looking around antiques to have them refinished as well. Tons of ways to save money and get that classic look!

    Hi Selena,
I've been admiring your work/books/blog for a few years now and I wanted to ask how you became an interior stylist and what a typical day looks like. I think I'd like to be a stylist and I'm researching the best way to go about it…any information would be helpful! Have a great weekend!
